Q: What sparked your interest in diving into the realm of smart home technology?

A: The idea that you can walk into your home, and it just knows what you want? That's magic right there. I've always been captivated by how technology can just morph our living spaces into these intelligent, responsive and entertaining environments.

Q: Can you say which project is etched in your memory?

A: A home theater for a client Jason, was a great project! We had a budget of $250,000 and a compact living space. The mission? Transform it into a cinematic paradise. We brought in a wall-to-wall screen, Wisdom Audio speakers, and Fortress theater seating that’s like sitting on a cloud. When we hit play for the first time and the room just exploded with sound...Jason's face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. That moment, that's the magic we aim for.

Q: What aspect of your role at Epic Systems fuels your fire?

A: You know, every happy client is a win, but the real juice comes from rallying with my team. I lead this band of brilliant tech wizards. They're not just about the codes and wires; they have this genuine love for people and a knack for breaking the mold. Together, we're not just solving puzzles; we're crafting experiences.

Q: Got a favorite gadget?

A: Josh.ai, hands down. It's like having a buddy who’s got your back, managing all the tech in your home smoothly. It’s not just smart; it’s thoughtful. A real game-changer. I also love the Kaleidescape experience for its unparalleled movie playback quality and sleek interface. It takes home entertainment to a whole new level,

Q: How long have you been riding the tech wave?

A: Over a decade now. It’s a field where every day is a new lesson, a new challenge. The smart home tech landscape is ever-evolving, and staying on top of it, that’s the real adventure.

Q: Any off-the-clock pursuits that sharpen your edge in smart home tech?

A: Family first and staying fit, especially Martial arts. I hold black belts in Judo and Jujitsu. The discipline, the precision, the strategy – it all echoes in the tech world. Every project is a new dojo where we get to test our skills, learn, and improve.

Q: Share a fun tidbit about yourself that clients might find intriguing.

A: When I’m off the clock, Family, Fitness and Fast! I’m all about the roar of a Porsche Carrera GT. It’s not just a car; it’s a masterpiece. The design, the sound, the speed - it’s like the Porsche engineers were speaking my language.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in smart home technology?

A: When I was growing up my father had a big stereo sound system and he used to DIY and build his own speakers so I have always been into audio and video since then. So I started reading and learning about Home Theater and Smart Home Technologies to implement it in my own apartment and then I realized that I love it so much that I made the decision to pursue it on a professional level.

A: Justin Home Theater

Q: What do you find most rewarding about your role at Epic Systems?

A: Seeing that the Customer is thrilled with the Experiences working with Epic Systems.

A: Kaleidescape and i have it in my house

A: I have been a Tech for 15 Years

Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you have that contribute to your skills in smart home technology?

A: My main Hobby Outside work is Home Theater

A: Control4 and Josh AI

Q: What's a fun fact about you that clients might find surprising or interesting?

A: Before Epic i was in the Night Club entertainment industry .

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in smart home technology?

A: I have been in the industry 25 years now and always have loved it. I got into it with my love for electronics and as time has gone by and all the new technology has come our way it has made me love it even more.

Q:Can you share a memorable project you've worked on at Epic Systems?

A: There have been too many to even pick a moment. It is always fun to see the system from sales to design to final install. The ability to give our clients the smart home they desire is my number one goal. So they are all memorable in their own ways and I look forward to many more to come!

Q:What do you find most rewarding about your role at Epic Systems?

A: The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a clients vision and then bringing that to fruition. Seeing the look on their face when we finish an installation and give them a demo is rewarding in its own way!

Q:What is your favorite gadget?

A: I have to say my phone. It is amazing how far they have come over the years. The ability to work on stuff being installed, run the business end of things, and just have everything at my fingertips is great. That’s why I love to install what we do and simplify it all in an app for the client.

Q: How many years have you been in tech?

A: 25 years this year I have been in the industry. I started out in pro AV doing nightclubs and then transitioned into residential and haven’t looked back since!

Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you have that contribute to your skills in smart home technology?

A: I’m a true tech geek. I not only sell and install it but I love to play with it at home. I am always looking for that new thing to add to my home system to not only test out but see what it can do.

Q: Are there any tech gadgets or smart home features you personally love or recommend?

A: One of my favorite things in the home is smart lighting control. The ability to set schedules based on time of day. Now even the ability to tune the temperature and color of the lights throughout the home just really can set a mood for when at home. I always tell people who are on the fence about a lighting system that once you live with it you will never be able to live without it again and I mean it!

Q: What's a fun fact about you that clients might find surprising or interesting?

A: Well about myself. I am a pretty simple guy outside of work. I love time with my close family and friends, my girlfriend and my dog! I’m a country boy at heart and always will be.
